About this ebook

Lyla Wilder is done being the shy, chemistry nerd extraordinaire. While every other college student is out having fun, Lyla is studying. With her cat. Well, she's played it "safe" quite enough, thank you. So she creates a "College Bucket List" with item number seven being a night of uninhibited, mind-blowing sex...

Now she just needs some help from her best friend.

Hockey player Beck Davenport thought Lyla's transformation would be subtle. Man, was he wrong. With every item she ticks off, Beck finds himself growing seriously hot for his sweet, brainiac best friend. And if he's not careful, he'll end up risking their friendship in order to convince Lyla that he might just be her lucky number seven...

Each book in the Taking Shots series is STANDALONE:

Cindi Madsen created two fun and entertaining characters for Getting Lucky Number Seven. I received an ARC of this story and finished it in one day. Lyla feeling it is time to change her image from shy, reliable nerdy friend. Sets to work by working to become more sexy and outgoing. Only problem is she needs help doing so. She recruits her best friend Beck to help with the transformation and sparks start to fly. An enjoyable, entertaining and sexy read that will leave you laughing.

I read this book quickly and it was enjoyable for the most part. The story flowed smoothly and there were no huge surprises. I did enjoy seeing Beck and Lyla deepen their friendship while trying to figure out a new equilibrium as lovers. It's hard to believe this is Cindi Madsen's first new adult novel. It was funny, sexy, and sweet, but not too explicit, so I think readers who are familiar with her stories won't be too scandalized by the content. I think she did a great job and look forward to seeing more new adult novels from her in the future.

Typical plot of most YA books like Beautiful Disaster and is predictable, like other comments mentioned but really good and keeps you hooked. Finished it in one sitting. Why does the guy always have a lot of cash though..

About the author

Cindi Madsen is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance and young adult novels. She sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting, revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she'd be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a pretty new pair, especially if they're sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music and dancing and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children.
