I enjoyed this start to the duet, The Downfall of Us. Piper believed in Archer coming back to her, so she waited. I loved all the letters Archer left for her; they touched my heart. She actually stole my heart with her faith, loyalty, and love for Archer. Archer had undergone quite a journey and became someone else, Finnegan. His anger, anguish, and loyalty to his "dream girl" kept me rooting for a resolution. Enter Derek. He became a bridge between Piper and Archer/Finnegan.
