Javier Malpica nació en 1965. Lleva algunos años escribiendo literatura infantil. Con la obra "Clubes rivales" obtuvo el Premio El Barco de Vapor 2002. Por su novela "Hasta el viento puede cambiar de piel", publicada en esta misma colección, ganó el premio María Enriqueta Camarillo.
