Herbert George Wells (1866 – 1946) was an English writer. He was proli?c in many genres, writing dozens of novels, short stories, and works of social commentary, but he is now best remembered for his science ? ction novels. This volume contains some of his most wonderful short stories, including a short ghost story “The Red Room” and “The Country of the Blind” – a story of a country which is cut off from the rest of the world. The isolated community prospered over the years, despite a disease that struck them early on, rendering all newborns blind.
