About this eBook

The book of Colossians deals with the age-old heresy: faith in Christ is not sufficient for our salvation. Throughout church history, people have sought to add their own information, and you still come across them today. Some claim that certain experiences are needed to live in the fullness of faith, or that specific disciplines must be maintained to prove authentic Christianity. Others suggest that only they—or people they admire—have the secret knowledge that marks out true discipleship.

This “faith in Jesus is not enough” idea was circulating in a number of churches in the area of Colossae. Paul, now in prison, was asked for his help and responded with this letter, emphasizing the supremacy and sufficiency of Christ and offering some practical guidelines for living out our faith.

Bible Daily notes are written by Jeff Lucas to help you apply the lessons of God’s Word daily. Each day and with each devotion, Jeff uses his signature wit and wisdom to reveal insights and practical application you can use in your own life. Each Bible devotion takes only a few minutes to read, but the lessons learned can last a lifetime.
