D'abord vient l'Alto. Dans le sillage d'une crise, le moral est optimiste, les institutions sont fortes et les communautés s'épanouissent alors que l'individualisme s'affaiblit.
Vient ensuite l'éveil. Les gens commencent à se révolter contre l'ancien ordre civique et à le remplacer par de nouvelles valeurs.
Puis un Uncover. Contrairement à un High, l'individualisme commence à croître à mesure que les institutions s'affaiblissent. Les nouvelles valeurs déterminées dans Awakening commencent à remplacer l'ancien régime.
Enfin, la crise. La société est en plein bouleversement. L'ordre social ancien se désagrège, la misère afflige la population et la confiance politique et économique est à un niveau extrêmement bas. Cependant, dans leur sillage, de nouvelles graines de renaissance sociale commencent à pousser, apportant un autre Alto éventuel.
Et ainsi l'histoire se répète !
