About this eBook

I was hoping for two things from my new job as the head teacher of Puffin Bay’s primary school: zero relationship complications and a quiet life where I could focus on my career.

Meeting Romy McAllister, widow of the town’s maritime hero, was unavoidable given that she had a daughter at my school. She was fierce and beautiful; becoming friends with her was going to make my life complicated, but I did it anyway. She’d said she had a crush on me - I pretended I didn’t feel the same.

Life could’ve been simple if Romy hadn’t delved too deep into what was going on in the private life of one of her friends. Nowhere does secrets like a small town, and when those secrets started to threaten Romy and her daughter, I chose to throw my chances of a quiet life away.

Even if it meant I risked breaking my heart and hers in the process.

Romy is the widow of Joel McAllister, who lost his life saving someone else on one of Wales's dark and stormy nights at sea. Cassian is the new head teacher at the local school. Now that Joel's been gone for about 4 years, Romy is finally emerging from her grief, but is still unsure about starting anything with somebody else; she's a busy single mum and all - her daughter Heidi is a lively 5-year-old and keeps Romy on her toes. Too few words available here to give a full review.

From the first chapter I was hooked on single mum Romy McAllister and Cassian Caddick’s story. It was a great addition to the Puffin Bay series. Neither are looking for love and yet fate has other plans for these too. When her daughter Heidi’s friend Mia needs help, Romy turns to Cass for guidance. I really liked Romy and Cass both separately and particularly as a couple. Romy was easy to relate to and I loved how she stepped up for Mia.

I love this series because each couple has a different road to their happily ever afters and its wonderful supporting cast of characters. Each romance is unique in its own way and Cass and Rory's story is a beautiful all the feels everything and more journey with a heartmelting and intriguing storyline that was out of this world amazing.
