Stephanie Calmenson is the acclaimed author of many popular books for young readers including Dinner at the Panda Palace; May I Pet Your Dog?; and the Ready, Set, Dogs! and Allie and Amy series written with Magic School Bus author Joanna Cole. A former early childhood teacher and children’s book editor, Stephanie feels fortunate to be able to teach, entertain, and encourage kids through her books. Joanna Cole (1944–2020) was best known for her beloved Magic School Bus series. Before becoming a full-time writer, she taught elementary school, worked with a news magazine, and was a senior editor of children’s books.
James Burks started drawing as a little kid and hasn’t stopped since. Along the way he’s written and illustrated some books of his own, including Gabby and Gator, Beep and Bah, and Bird and Squirrel on the Run. The illustrator of The Monstore, James lives in Southern California with his family.
