My heart was so wrapped up in this one! I had already been hooked on Ramona in the other books. There is something that draws you to her nature, and when she goes through the trauma she does it makes you want to hug her and make it all ok. The fact she goes through multiple instances of abuse, trauma, and uncertainty, you’d think she would break and fall apart. She has her moments, as would anyone going through such heartache. But, she’s resilient and determined to move forward. Her ability to make that move really is in part to her texting conversations with Perry. What started out as an inquiry has increased into a tentative friendship, then more. Perry has his own past issues and hidden past that others aren’t privy to. He only allows others to see so much. So for him to feel safe emotionally with Ramona, says a heck of a lot. He is particular on who he lets close. When he shares with her that part of himself, it broke my heart for him. It was unexpected, yet so understandable. Their journey is for sure a unique one that NEEDED to be shared. It needed to be put out there. Both of their experiences made me stop and think. Not everything is at surface level, there are deeper feelings and instances to be considered. As always, I feel like Esther handled the situation with love as well as care. These two are incredibly special! I loved every bit of this book! What a beautiful story.
