Sara Ahmed is Reader in Race, Ethnicity and Identity in the Media Department at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Her research interests are in feminist theory, critical race studies and postcolonial theory. Previous publications include Differences that Matter: Feminist Theory and Postmodernism (1998) and Strange Encounters: Embodied Others in Post-Coloniality (2000). She is an Associate Editor of International Journal of Cultural Studies and on the editorial boards of European Journal of Women's Studies, New Formations, borderlands and Culture, Theory and Critique.
