Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882) was an American lecturer, essayist, and poet at the forefront of the transcendentalist movement during the mid-19th century. He is considered to be one of the most important figures in the American romantic movement, and his writing has had a significant impact on the work of many of the thinkers, writers, and poets that followed him. Other notable works by this author include: "Essays: First Series" (1841), "Essays: Second Series" (1844), and "Nature, Addresses and Lectures" (1849). This volume will appeal to those with an interest in the transcendentalist movement, and it is not to be missed by fans and collectors of Emerson's seminal work.
