About this ebook

Tough as nails rancher Abe Condon needs to produce children to inherit his property, so he sends for a mail-order bride. Love will not be part of the deal. He's had his share of heartbreak and harbors no illusions about his future wife; she will most likely be hiding from the law or a cold hearted...well.. just cold.

Nothing prepares Abe for the beautiful vision in burgundy that steps off the train, or the pain he sees flickering in her eyes. She may not be cold, but she is definitely hiding something. She couldn't possibly be as sweet as she seems, and yet darned if his cowboy upbringing doesn't make him want to wrap her up and keep her safe.

A contemporary woman of the twenty-first century, Maddie Porter is given a second chance; get out of Purgatory and earn her angel wings by answering a deserving man's Heart Wish. A wish from deep in his heart that he doesn’t even know he has.

In 1881, one look into this cowboy's emerald eyes and Maddie knows she is willing to risk everything to grant his Heart Wish and keep her cowboy safe, even lose her own soul to the angel hunters looking for her. She has just seven days…and nights…to show this man that love is a risk worth taking.

I loved this second installment in Cynthia's Heart Wish series. I do recommend reading Book 1 first as the stories are linked together. In this book, Maddie Porter is sent back to Earth to fulfill the heart wish of Abraham Condon. She has seven Earth days to get Abe to fall in love with her and reunite him with family. Maddie is skeptical about accomplishing this in the time she is given so Gabriel tells her to look up Caitlyn from the first book Heart of Stone. On the stage to Golden, Colorado, Maddie meets Destiny who is going to Golden to take over the hotel with a restaurant and saloon. Destiny mentions that she will have to make a deal with the local sheriff. Once the stage arrives in Golden, Abe picks up Maddie and they get married then they go to the mercantile to pick up supplies. Upon leaving the store, they are met by the sheriff who invites them to dinner at his place in two days' time. Abe finds this kind of strange but agrees. This book is full of surprises, some good and some not, and hopefully a happy ending for Abe and Maddie. I am definitely looking forward to the next Heart Wish book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

About the author

Cynthia Woolf is the award-winning and best-selling author of fifty-six historical western romance books, two short stories, two time-travel historical western romances and two contemporary western romances. She has also published six sci-fi, space opera romances, which she calls westerns in space. Along with these books she has also published four boxed sets of her books.

Cynthia loves writing and reading romance. Her first western romance Tame A Wild Heart, was inspired by the story her mother told her of meeting Cynthia's father on a ranch in Creede, Colorado. Although Tame A Wild Heart takes place in Creede that is the only similarity between the stories. Her father was a cowboy, not a bounty hunter, and her mother was a nursemaid (called a nanny now), not the ranch owner.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband Jim and her great critique partners for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.
