About this ebook

Welcome to Hathaway House. Rehab Center. Safe Haven. Second chance at life and love.

Getting accepted to Hathaway House is the new start Iain MacLeod has been waiting for. His old VA center has put him on the road to recovery, but he’s nowhere near where he wants to be. Much work remains to be done, and Iain is determined to do what’s necessary to get back to full power. But he has hit the limit of his current professionals’ abilities. He needs a new team. New eyes. New methods. He can only hope that Hathaway House has what he needs to keep moving forward.

Robin Carruthers works in the veterinary clinic at Hathaway House. When she connects with Iain, she’s his biggest cheerleader and enjoys watching him take steps toward greater recovery. Until she realizes that, while Iain is growing in major ways, … she isn’t. When traumas from her past intrude on the present, and Robin is forced to confront issues of her own, she’s afraid she and Iain won’t find their way back to each other again …

I really liked how you felt how much Iain felt like he was stuck in a rut and needed to come around to the new way of thinking and embrace the help around him, while Robin had to learn what she thought she needed for a career isn't always what will make her happy. The fact we got a lot more time with the animals and in the vets was fun as they are also a big part of Hathaway House and when Iain got on the horse it was happy claps and a sweet moment. I just flove these book as each story is different but bettering oneself and doing the best you can always shines through. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. I so thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a great addition to the series. This series is about our wounded warriors. They come to Hathaway House to heal the mind, body and spirit. Not only does Hathaway House help veterans, but animals as well. Here is vet tech, Robin Carruthers, she has only been at Hathaway for a short period of time. She has seen miracles happen with both the patients and the animals. She spots a new veteran when he arrives. Unfortunately Iain MacLeod didn't take an ambulance but had a friend drive him in a truck. Iain is in agony. He questions his decisions to come to Hathaway as coming by truck set his recovery back weeks. This story is such a heartwarming, clean story of two people coming together and finding healing. I enjoyed that this story was written in a dual POV format. Robin feels like she isn't good enough for Iain and seeing how she deals with her feelings really is a thought-provoking moment. Even though this is a part of a series, this can be a stand-alone. This is a clean, sweet romance that I highly recommend to anyone.

Awwww I just want to hug this book. I love this series from Hathaway house and I have been waiting to long for the next instalment. Iain was so sweet when we were introduced to him but he did put his treatment back when he did his journey by truck with his best friend, Bruce, rather than by ambulance. Robin is the vet tech working with all of the injured ammonia’s and those already on site. She was a sweet character who always seemed to have insightful saying to get people to think. As we see is Iain’s treatment and his mindset, we also see his friendship with Robin goes from strength to strength. Iain must get through his mindset to figure out a future. A awesome bit of writing and one I am sure I will read again. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
