I am not generally a great fan of Danielle Steel as an author, find her books a bit bland, with characters much the same. This is not the case with Crossings. Set in the 30-40's, prior to & during the 2nd world war, & with the story revolving around the trials & struggles of three main characters it is quite absorbing. Some research has been done of the period with dates/events appearing genuine which increases the interest. It gets a little bogged down in parts but is still a recommended read.
