About the author
Georg Büchner (17.10.1812; †19.02.1837) zählt trotz seines schmalen Werkes – er starb bereits im Alter von 23 Jahren – zu den wichtigsten Schriftstellern des Vormärz. Er gilt als bedeutender Revolutionär und politisch kritischer Autor. Besonders die psychologische Seite von Büchners Figuren ist in seinen Werken besonders genau gezeichnet.
