About this eBook

This book is a diary of writings from October 2019 to November 2020.

The months before the pandemic started were a blur. Jennifer had got out of a long toxic relationship, and had to start her life from zero. A month later, the most important person in her life passed away in an accident. At the time, she found herself not only emotionally alone, but physically as well, in total confinement triggered by the coronavirus lockdown in a small village in Europe.

Due to these events, her mental health worsened, and so she started writing again—a poetry diary that accompanied her healing journey. A year later, she decided to edit, design and self-publish her first book. All in all, this book is composed with self-discovery, freedom, and love in all forms inspired by a year marked by losses and, consequently, big wins.

The book contains month chapters and all text is ordered by date. Single pages with larger text mostly consist of thoughts and phrases, which are accompanied by a short contextual description of the moment they were conceived in.

The main language is English but inside, you will also find original text in Portuguese, French and Spanish. All content includes the original text language, followed by its translation to English.

About the author

Jennifer Hachiya is a writer, editor, translator, research scientist, and photographer born in Lyon, France, and raised in North America, and Europe. She wrote her first song at 10 years old sitting on the patio of her grandmother's house in the village. After that, she decided she wanted to become a writer and started composing poetry almost every day before bedtime. Just a few years later, she discovered photography. Since then, both writing and photography have become her drive to navigate through life. Nowadays, her ideas are mostly conceived after midnight, based on heartbreaks, travels, and great conversations.
