I absolutely loved it! I read the synopsis months ago, and it was quite misleading as this installment proved to contain more surprises and twists than I anticipated. I should have known better, having been a Dark Series fan for the past few years. I feel like Christine is building up to another big showdown, as was the case in Dark Wolf and Dark Blood. I love how this particular story wove in the fates of several Carpathians, and once again displayed the powerful bond of love, passion, loyalty and honor they share as a race of beings trying to survive the dire circumstances they continuously face. These are age- old, romanticized themes which Christine has skillfully woven into a well crafted and original work of literature; which honestly feels more like a memory of a home long forgotten. That is the mark of great writing, and she just gets better and better. Like the blood of a lifemate, the Dark Series is addicting!

I absolutely love the DARK series. I have read every one. All the novels go so deep into the story of the characters I find I love them all. This novel too has warmed it's way into my heart. Looking forward to the next story regarding Gary, as he has been a loved character that had been in almost all of the stories, and I can't wait to see what great things come to fruition in this next novel.

From the reviews I read about this book. I'm not even going to bother buying. Abuse is not my kind of thing. I think it's time to put the series to bed. The last book I read "spider web" was a disappointment. Not sure what's going on with Christine. I guess it's time to find other authors.
