Taking place between "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back", this story is about Vader trying to redeem himself after Palpatine loses faith in his gifted student since the destruction of the first Death Star. Vader wastes no time in getting the information, team, and army he needs to get this started and the quick pace of these 6 comics definitely show it. But be aware that this book is just the setup for the rest of the series, so it doesn't have much in the way of interesting storytelling.

Very enjoyable comic, featuring storylines, dialogue and settings that are consistent with the Sith Lord's character and the themes established by the original trilogy. Kieron Gillon's writing is about one million times superior to, and, more imaginative, as compared to the current, absolutely God-awful new trilogy films, and, the artwork is simply superb. Collect and read them all!
