About this eBook

The dark and alluring first novel in New York Times bestselling author Anne Bishop’s beloved Black Jewels series introduces Jaenelle Angelline, a witch with astonishing power and a dangerous destiny, and Daemon Sadi, the lethal Warlord Prince born to be her lover.

Seven hundred years ago, a Black Widow witch saw an ancient prophecy come to life in her web of dreams and visions.

Now the Dark Kingdom readies itself for the arrival of its Queen, a Witch who will wield more power than even the High Lord of Hell himself. But she is still young, still open to influence—and corruption.

Whoever controls the Queen controls the darkness. Three men—sworn enemies—know this. And they know the power that hides behind the blue eyes of an innocent young girl. And so begins a ruthless game of politics and intrigue, magic and betrayal, where the weapons are hate and love—and the prize could be terrible beyond imagining...

I tried to like this as someone said that ACOTAR was a rip off of this. This book is terrible. Even if SJM did rip off some stuff which I did not find at all she would have made this book 1000x better. This book is horribly confusing and throws you into the world with no explanations as to what's going on. The characters are so boring and 1 dimensional and all seem to have the same issues, as if she only was able to come up with two characters and used the same personalities for all the others. Also why the hell is our supposed hero(s) a pedophile. First off the father but not of my loins guy, saetan, is all like I am your father figure but then acts like he wants to bang this 7 year old and even thinks his son will take away his courtship of her. Then his son, who is 1700 years old btw, makes out with her when she is 12! Like I am all for a little SA in a book but when did pedophiles become the heros?! If I could leave this negative stars I would.

A book for the ages. Tragic, beautiful, saddening, and amazing. Joy and triumph. Guilt, betrayal and mistrust. Daughter of the Blood is the first in the original "Black Jewels Trilogy" by Anne Bishop, later expanded into a series with six novels and two collections of short stories. A series that defines the subgenre of Dark Fantasy and sets a precident for all those to follow. It begins with three men, enemies, all waiting for the same thing, and willing to kill each other for it and to protect it. Little do they know, another force finds this girl the men so covet and go after her, as well. An evil, egocentric woman who loves nothing but herself and her own selfish ambitions. It turns into a deadly and ruthless game of politics and betrayal as the story unfolds. Pain, love, fun, betrayal, greed, and magic flow perfectly in this originally three part story. Intertwining to create something truly original that everyone should read at least once.

This book is HEAVILY centered around rape, Blood women controlling men and making them service them, children being raped... it's very dark, very twisted, but still a good story. You've been warned.
