About this ebook

The words of a construct, an artificial mind, ring truer than ever. Humanity has angered a powerful foe and cannot weather the growing storm. The Toralii are coming.

But instead of warships, the Toralii Alliance send an ambassador to the Sol system. The message it brings is a startling, marked departure from all other contact with the species... and one that heralds a shift in the balance of power in the Milky Way, the most significant in hundreds of years.

The Toralii face a larger threat. A something their ships cannot catch, their weapons cannot touch and gravimetric interference cannot stop. The Toralii, for the first time in centuries, know the crushing grip of fear.

The TFR Beijing must face an old enemy, an enemy who has not been idle; an imperfect being whose ambition seems matched only by his capabilities.

Liao's child is born into an era of war and fear, and the spectre of oblivion looms over all mankind.

Lacuna is a very fast paced and keeps readers engaged for most of the story. In fact one of the aspects of the book/series that I liked was how there was very little down time, and the plot progress rather rapidly. Sadly this aspect does hinder the series somewhat, by leaving some plot "gaps." These "gaps" have honestly left me wondering about many of the finer details that are simply left in the darkness in the book. I wish the writer described characters, weapons, ships, and battles in greater detail

While I'm enjoying the story, I am more used to novels in a series being 300-500 pages long. Each book is far too short and this series is getting far too expensive to keep up with. I feel a bit shortchanged by getting interested in the story from the "free" teaser and now having to buy each short installment at $5+ a pop. Unfortunately, I have to take a few stars off for this reason.

Lacuna - Book 3, didn't disappoint. Will the virgins of outer space, The Human Race, survive the horrors of a waring empire that has no honor and can't be trusted. Will Captain Laio, among others, finally listen to their alien allies, that this waring empire is relentless in nature and will use genocide if not obeyed. On to Book - 4, I say! to find out.

About the author

I've always been thinking of stories for as long as I've been alive. I have way, way, way too many to tell and far too little time to tell them.

It was only in 2011 that I actually started shaping and weaving those random, jumbling, chaotic masses of thoughts into coherent narratives and began self-publishing.

I write a little science fiction, a little fantasy, a little humour and comedy, and a few other things all over the place.
