One murder was self-defense. Now, survival demands so much more.

In a world simmering with tension and buried secrets, The Hate Crime plunges readers into a deadly quest for justice, revenge, and survival. When renowned author and filmmaker David’s Cristi’s old friend Roland resurfaces, it’s not just for a friendly chat—he’s on a mission to find his estranged granddaughter, Katherine. Raised under Roland’s fierce protection, Katherine has fled a life of terror after killing her neo-Nazi husband, a violent extremist bent on mass destruction. Now, with her daughter in tow, she’s vanished from witness protection, leaving behind a trail of perilous questions.

David and his investigative team must untangle a web of deceit and violence spanning generations, uncovering secrets about the Aryan Confederacy, a neo-Nazi group whose plans for terror loom ominously over their every move. As the team dives deeper into Katherine’s harrowing past, they face off against relentless enemies, including a deranged cult leader hell-bent on revenge. Racing against time and the law, they battle to shield Katherine from a world that sees her as both a victim and a criminal.

A gripping thriller that explores the darkest depths of hate, family loyalty, and the cost of vengeance, The Hate Crime delivers a pulse-pounding tale that will keep readers on the edge of their seats until the final, explosive confrontation. Will justice prevail, or will hatred claim its final victim?

Meer oor die skrywer

With 40 books published internationally and 19 movies in worldwide distribution, John Russo has been called "a Living Legend." He began by co-authoring the screenplay for the horror classic, Night of the Living Dead, and went on to build an iconic decades-long career.

His books on the art and craft of movie making have become bibles of independent production and have won a national award for Superior Nonfiction. Quentin Tarantino and many other noted filmmakers have stated that Russo's books have helped them launch their careers.

John Russo wants people to know he's "just a nice guy who likes to scare people" -- and he's done it with novels and films such as Return of the Living Dead, Midnight, The Majorettes, The Awakening, Heartstopper, and My Uncle John is a Zombie!

He's had a long, rewarding career, and he shows no signs of slowing down. In 2024, Lionsgate acquired a Western written by him, The Night They Came Home, about the murder spree perpetrated by the Rufus Buck gang, who were all hanged in 1895.

Russo's popularity among genre fans remains at a high pitch. He appears at many movie conventions each year as a featured guest, and hundreds of attendees come to his tables or to the bar to share drinks, jokes, and serious conversation.
