I usually don't expect much from books and movies based on games, but this one is great. I guess I shouldn't be so surprised since it's written by one of the writers for the games. It captures the ideologies on both sides of the mage-templar conflict brilliantly while providing context for the next game. If you intend to play inquisition, this is a good book to read in these last days before release.

This was he first book i read from the dragon age series the author has and i must say it was well written suspensful and a all around fun read! I am not sure how canon these books are but i was suprised to learn about a character from the series and the direction the author took with them that was my only dislike to an otherwise great read. I plan to read the other in the series. Dragon age lore is fantastic

The book really keeps you on your toes for the first half of the novel, giving you full rounded characters. In the second half of the book, I just couldn't stop reading, it got so good so quick. Definitely a must read!

DAVID GAIDER lives in Edmonton, Alberta, and has worked for video game developer BioWare since 1999. He is the lead writer on the award-winning role-playing game Dragon Age: Origins and has previously worked on such titles as Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Neverwinter Nights.
