About this ebook

The highly acclaimed thriller that launched the cultural phenomenon, Rambo.

'Nobody does this kind of thing better than David Morrell' Lee Child

One war waged against one man: RAMBO. First came the man: a young wanderer in a fatigue coat and long hair. Then came the legend, as John Rambo sprang from the pages of FIRST BLOOD to take his place on the world's cultural landscape.

This remarkable novel pits a young, disillusioned and ragged Vietnam veteran against a small-town cop who has no idea whom he is dealing with - or how far Rambo will take him into a life-and-death struggle through the woods, hills and caves of rural Kentucky. From best-selling author David Morrell, this is the critically acclaimed thriller that launched the cultural phenomenon, Rambo. If you know Rambo only from the films, be prepared to be amazed.

I,ve read this dozens of times and it got me through some very rough times. it's my catcher in the Rye or more like a security blanket I could hide in. I had seen the two movies and was a huge Stallone and Rambo fan as a kid . I read this after the movies and reading Rambo 2 which is based around the movie unlike this gem. I,d read it till the copy fell apart and always find one at a second hand book store easily for 50c or $2 . now there's fellas asking for $100 bucks for a copy it looks like they wizzed on. it's been exactly 27 years since read it last and I,m looking forward to reading it a few more times. An amazing book that appeals to me more in written form than if Stallone portrayed it As the novel. it's nasty and in your face and the first book I remember physically tension when read parts. I really wanted the movie ending after all that effort but it never changes. maybe he,ll get to win this time.

An excellent story of a man suffering after his involvement in war. Truly believable, special forces personnel do not stop being special after demon.

Huge difference to film, but you can't make a sequel if the main character is dead. Enjoyable read all the same.
