Second book of the series. Manfred has a bad time in this book. His client dies, he's a suspect, and he's accused of theft. In the Harper Connley books, he seemed more confident of himself and could read Harper's mind easily. In this series, not so much. The plot was kind of strange. We did meet two characters from he Sookie Stackhouse series. I did like the story, so I'm moving on to the last book.

Charlaine Harris is one of my favourite writers-- I got hooked with the Sookie Stackhouse series, and continue to soak up her stories like a literary sponge; her characters are so real, they spring to life from the pages, and I feel transported with every book

I really didn't know what to expect from this series, but of course, I had to give it a try. It did not disappoint! Book 1 was great, book 2 takes you further inside the town of Midnight, and I am looking forward to book 3. Midnight is a small town where the residents all have secrets. Vampire, yes...angels, most definitely. And the other residents? I suggest you read the books to find out. I hope you fall in love with Midnight. I know that I did!
