The fifth Odd Thomas thriller from the master storyteller. Odd finds refuge at a rundown mansion, but soon discovers a frightening presence.

Odd Thomas has seen danger and he has seen death. He lives between two worlds, communicating with the lingering dead.

He stands between us and our darkest fears, never failing the tests that confront him, whatever the cost.

Now he has found refuge in a crumbling mansion in Santa Barbara, along with his closest friends both living and dead. But the house is a place of terrible secrets, haunted by lingering spirits. And there is a stranger, more frightening presence still...

I would not normally base a review on anything but the content of the book. Its a Koontz book, you either like his writing or you don't. However i think as readers we need to demand a fair price for E-Books. I am all for paying a person for their effort and work. However if i can purchase this exact same book down the road for 9.99, for a physical book that has a manufacturing cost, a packing and dispatch cost and a store shelving cost. I certainly do not expect to pay the same price for an E-book which has neither. An eBook is virtual and exists as nothing more than a few bytes of computer code. It is nothing more than greed from the publishers, an average novel in E-book form should not ever exceed 4.99. I am marking down e-books that i find ripping readers off and i suggest to others they do the same. maybe when the titles start dropping in ratings in searches they may reconsider their greed. When e-books first started to hit the web they were hailed as a way to get cheaper books as there is not the cost involved as there is with physical books. Someone needs to tell the publishers.

Dean Koontz just has some special gift for writing that I've never seen duplicated by another author. Odd Thomas is the most special of any character I've ever met.

Not as great as the first but the witty dialogue and captivating characters ensure this latest story remains highly enjoyable.
