...but only very slightly. Lindsay's second foray into Dexter Morgan's Miami inexplicably lacks ALL of the strength and freshness of the fisrt novel, but again, the book's power is barely diminished. It is still an absolute page-turner and in the crime/noir genre, it is certainly one of the very best. Lindsay often does for Miami what Chandler did for LA, & that's high praise. And again, Dexter is just so much fun the pages turn themselves...

I don't understand some of the complaining about it not being as good as the first one. I feel like it fed in well with it and even more so. I'm getting a whole new story of Dexter than what the show has shown and I'm loving every bit of it.
