About this ebook

Fighter. Misfit. Heart thief.

How long can Chadora’s throne sit empty? That is the question on everyone’s mind as they wait for the rightful heir to return for his crown. Patience is not Eda’s strong suit, and she has an idea to speed things along that just might work. The youngest Suttone has found her voice, and now she is determined to be heard. If they will not listen to her words, then she will speak with her sword. It is time to step outside the walls. But first she must get past the only man brave enough to stand in her way.

Roul Thornton has a five-year plan and too many secrets. As he guards those within Chadora’s walls, he is acutely aware that the people who need his protection most exist outside of them. At least, that was true right up until he met the youngest Suttone sister. She needs protecting from herself. Eda is fire and heart and wit and trouble—and the biggest threat to his plan. He is about to follow her down a dangerous path. With his loyalties already divided, Roul must ensure his heart remains wholly intact.

This is the third book in the medieval dystopian series Kingdom of Walls. If you enjoy heart-racing action, witty dialogue, and a fierce heroine, then this high-drama love story is for you.

First, huge thanks to the fantastic and classy Tanya Bird for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Second, Wow. Wow. Wow. Where do I even begin. How about a summary? This story follows youngest Suttone sister, Eda, as she embarks on journey to fill Chadora's throne by persuading its wayward prince to return from his hiding place in a neighboring kingdom. Also embarking on this journey with her is Roul, a promising young recruit, and the soul owner of Eda's heart even though she hasn't figured it out yet. Both have secrets, both have promises to keep and neither of them have figured out how to navigate either...yet. One thing I really loved about this story is that it's not your typical romance. Roul is strong headed, stubborn and has absolutely no pity for the fact that Eda is female. He treats her as an equal in everything, something I absolutely enjoyed in this story. Eda is a lioness in everything she does. She doesn't take no for an answer and can take a man down just as easily as any man, if not better. Eda is no damsel in distress, and I've loved that from the time she was introduced in the first book. As you can imagine, put these two characters together and you have fierce love and unwavering dedication with just the right amount of angst and intensity. As always, I enjoyed diving back into this world and seeing how things have progressed from the previous book. My only gripe with this one is I felt the climax was rushed which didn't allow it to have the attention it deserved. It felt lackluster to me, and I just wish there was a little more detail and it drug out for a little long with more action. However, it didn't stop me from continuing reading or loving the story any less. Overall, a solid 4.5 stars. Roul, call me if you and Eda decide to call it quits. There I said it.

What a wonderful end to the series! In true Tanya Bird fashion there is plenty of action, intrigue and swoon worthy moments! I loved Roul and Eda's relationship and how they went from friends to more. Eda has been a favorite of mine from the beginning, and she was just as amazing as I knew she would be. She never goes against her true self even when everyone expects her to act in the typical fashion for the time. Basil and Rosemary made the story complete in every way! Seeing Chadora change and grow for the better over the series really made them all seamlessly come together for a beautifully done ending. I cannot recommend this series or author enough!

This book was amazing from start to finish. Tanya Bird is such a fantastic writer and this book is such a great way to end off the series. Eda and Roul story is filled with humour, fun, butt-kicking and romance. It has everything I look for in a good book plus some cute animal additions! I loved getting to know Eda more and love her character. She is stubborn, fierce and makes me want to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow. The Suttone sisters as a whole are amazing strong females and it is always a delight to delve back into their world. Sad to see this series ending but glad the book finished it off in such a fantastic way!
