The year is 2099. North America is in chaos, ruined by years of war, terrorism, and ecological destruction. Tom Henighan's previous books include The Well of Time (1988), shortlisted for the Seal First Novel Award; the first two volumes of the Rigg series, Viking Quest (2001) and Viking Terror (2006), currently being turned into an animated feature film; and Mercury Man (2004). Henighan lives in Ottawa.
