Damn awesome book. The Skulduggery series tends towards awesomeness and this is no exception. The last few chapters feel a little awkward as it seems to have about four different climaxes, which gives it a sort of "And then, and then, and then, and then" feel, but that's really my only complaint. That aside... I honestly have no idea why the Skulduggery books are still being published under Harper Collins' Children arm... I've seen tv shows and movies get rated MA15 for less than the stuff that happens in this book. Just keep that in mind if you're buying for a kid.

What you've come to expect. Very tightly written. Only gripe being that in every fight with a significant foe all the characters feel absolutley useless. Could do with more character moments seperate from Valkyrie but other than that, decent romp.

Loved the series cant wait to see what Derek Landy pulls out next Absolutely loved the Darquesse moments wish I could have seen more of her in action as the good guy cant wait for more

Derek Landy lives near Dublin. Before writing his children's story about a sharply-dressed skeleton detective, he wrote the screenplays for a zombie movie and a murderous horror film. "I think my career-guidance teacher is spinning in her grave," he says, "or she would be if she were dead."
