About this eBook

From the very beginning, Chancery cared nothing for power, but fate has forced her to gather all the staridium necessary to rule the world. She’s finally ready to fulfill the prophecy, but not all her enemies stood outside the gate. When the villain who murdered her mother finally strikes, Chancery’s unprepared. With Noah, Edam, and Judica on her side, she thought no one could defeat them.

She was wrong.

Broken, battered, and in bondage, can Chancery make the terrible sacrifice required to save the world, even if it shatters her heart?

This is the last book in The Birthright Series, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was scared that I would end up completely heartbroken. The love triangle was kind of agonizing! From the start I was team Edam, but Noah grew on me so much, and I ended up loving him too. One was all fire and intensity, and the other was gentle and caring. They seriously needed to be combined into one guy! I honestly didn't know who she would end up with, and of course I'm not going to tell you, but I will say that I've read a couple of other books with love triangles that ended the way this one did, and I'm happy. A little heartbroken as well, but happy. I'm probably making this series sound like it was all about the romance, but it wasn't. It was about a lot more than that. I enjoyed the overall plot. It was different from anything I had read before with the low fantasy setting in the real world, combined with the daughters of Eve and their descendants. I liked the sisterly bonds in the series as well, and the way it showed the different perspectives of the sisters. I also liked how it showed how sometimes people can get off track by the choices they make, even if their intentions started out good. With seven books, this series has been a rather long one, but I loved all the books and it didn't bother me at all that there were seven of them. There may have been a few things that could have been left out, and I did feel like some things happened too quickly and maybe some things were wrapped up a little too neatly, but as I read this I thought about how nice it was to get all these little extras in this series. Namely, the alternate points of view books (which ended up being my favorites), and details like the weddings being included. That was what made this series so great to me. I loved getting to linger and spend the extra time with the characters in this series. I loved getting to see all the alternate points of view and how that changed the story. Overall this book was a great ending to the series and I'm looking forward to seeing what Bridget writes next!

Chancery has finally collected all of the rings to fulfill the prophecy of rejoining the staridium stones. Along the way she has made enemies and allies, winning the respect of both. Her two strongest supporters, Edam and Noah, are vying to take a place at her side. And her sisters are working with her to help her bring order to the world and save the humans from the Sons of Gilgamesh. But when she is betrayed by family, and when fulfilling the prophecy means a sacrifice she never expected, can Chancery find the strength to do what’s right? The previous six books have introduced so many details, so many mysteries, and this one brings them all together for a shocking but deeply satisfying conclusion to the saga. I loved how things came full circle: from Mahalesh’s daughters quarreling and the staridium splitting to Enora’s daughters coming together and the stone rejoining. I loved seeing the growth of each character throughout. Chancery grows from insecure teenager to confident, wise woman but slowly. She knows the value of depending on friends and family rather than trying to run the world by herself. Edam and Noah also mature, growing less selfish and more noble, until they are able to work together to protect Chancery. This book is full of hope and joy and devastation and grief and rebirth. It beautifully completes the journey, going beyond expectations to deliver a masterpiece of woven details, and leaving the reader with the sense that there may yet be hope for this world.

Okay, this one broke my heart. Chancery FINALLY makes her choice, although the two men don’t make it easy. The Garden of Eden is glorious and also not at all what I expected. Noah’s family is both very much and not at all as I pictured, but he has none of their less desirable traits. Judica and Chancery both have major surprises in their love lives. Some lives are lost and some are started. The world is destroyed and saved, made worse and better. The end of it though, ugh, have some tissues ready! I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters and the madness that is the evian world. Thank goodness I can start at the beginning and relive the struggles and sacrifices all over again!

About the author

Bridget is a lawyer turned novelist who loves her husband (every day) and all five of her kids (most days). She has three goofy horses, one very busy dog, two spoiled barn cats, two lion’s head rabbits, and more chickens than she cares to admit. She makes cookies waaaaaay too often, and believes they should be their own food group. In an attempt to level the scales between consumption and exertion, she kickboxes every day. So if you don’t like her books, her kids, or her cookies, maybe don’t tell her in person.
