Devavrat is the most important character in Mahabharat written by

Maharishi Vedvyas. He was made heir-apparent of the Hasitnapur

kingdom but ceded his rights for his father Shantanu’s happiness.

Because of his terrible oaths he became famous as Bhisma. Devavrat

was blessed by his father to live as he wishes. He played major role in

the political affairs of the kingdom for four generations.

Dr. Vinod Krishna has narrated his life story in a very beautiful manner

and in captivating language. He unfolded strengths and weaknesses of

Devavrat in his own way. Devavrat is not only the story of Devavrat but

also the history of Kuru Dynasty, love,lust, sacrifies and conspircy . As

you begin reading it, you will be so engrossed in the book that you will

be keen to finish it in one go.

Tried to download after payment again but was unable to do so due to the upgrade of google play book needed but couldn't make on Mi A1 mobile.

Worth reading. लिखने की शैली अत्यन्त उत्कृष्ट है। महाभारत कालीन युग को जीवन्त कर दिया गया है।

About the author

Dr. Vinod Krishna is wellknown educationist. He holds the Ph.D. degree

from the prominent Roorkee University of Roorkee(now known as IIt

Rorkee). He published many research papers in national and

international Journals on enviornmentel pollution and genesis of

volcanic rocks. Many resarch scholars were awarded Ph.D. degree

under his supervision. He served as Professor,Principal as well as

Director in many colleges of Jiwaji University, Gwalior and Rajiv Gandhi

Tecnical University, Bhopal.

He has already written a book “ Geeta ek Vivechan” on Bhagwat Geeta

in a very simple language so that ordinary people may understand its

complex subject. He has natural interest in social services and worked

for upliftment of poor and downdrowden people. At present he is

associated with NGO Eklavya Trust in Gurgaon and helping poor kids in

getting free education.
