Otto Haendler (1890–1981) hat seit Beginn der 1940er Jahre einen wachsenden Einfluss auf die Praktische Theologie und die Grundfragen kirchlicher Praxis gewonnen. Seine interdisziplinär argumentierenden, unter anderem im direkten Dialog mit C. G. Jung verfassten Texte haben zu weitreichenden Veränderungen im Selbstverständnis und im Berufsbild von Pfarrerinnen und Pfarrern beigetragen. Auf dem Höhepunkt der dialektischen Theologie stellt Haendler die Frage nach der Bedeutung von Person und Subjekt für die Glaubenskultur der Kirche. Ein 2014 gestartetes Editionsprojekt (Otto Haendler. Vorträge und Schriften zur Praktischen Theologie) war Anlass, sich im Rahmen eines Symposions mit seinen Impulsen genauer auseinanderzusetzen und eine entsprechende Spurensicherung vorzunehmen. [The Practical Theology of Otto Haendler. On the Traces of an Epochal Change] Since the beginning of the 1940s Otto Haendler (1890–1981) has exercised a growing influence on practical theology and the fundamental questions of ecclesial practice. His interdisciplinary argumentation, his texts written sometimes in direct dialogue with C. G. Jung, have contributed to far-reaching changes regarding the self-image and the occupational profile of pastors. At the height of dialectical theology, Haendler raised the question of the significance of person and subject for the life of faith of the church. An editorial project starting in 2014 provided the opportunity to address in the context of a symposion the impact of his work and to ensure its achievements.
O autorovi
Wilfried Engemann, Jahrgang 1959, lehrt seit 1994 als Praktischer Theologe an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster. Der Schwerpunkt seiner Publikationen liegt auf dem Gebiet der Predigtlehre und der Pastoralpsychologie bzw. der Seelsorge. Er ist u. a. Mitherausgeber der Reihe Arbeiten zur Praktischen Theologie sowie der Seelsorgezeitschrift Wege zum Menschen.
