Bernhard Rothmann brachte die reformatorische Lehre in den 1530er Jahren nach Münster. Diese Stadt blieb jedoch nur kurze Zeit reformatorisch, denn der wachsende Einfluss der Täufer und die Unterstützung dieser Gruppe durch Rothmann führte zur Münsteraner Täuferherrschaft, als deren theologischer Kopf Rothmann fungierte. Die umfassende Analyse seiner wortgewaltigen Schriften und Briefe zeichnet seine theologische Entwicklung nach und belegt sein eigenständiges theologisches Denken. In der Darstellung seines Ringens um die Wahrheit werden seine theologische Schärfe und sein allmählicher theologischer Wandel deutlich. Erstmals werden die verschiedenen Auflagen seiner Schriften ausgewertet und einige neue überraschende Erkenntnisse zu seiner Biographie entdeckt. [The Theological Development of Bernhard Rothmann. A Contribution to the History of the Reformation in Münster] Bernhard Rothmann brought the Reformation teachings to Münster in the 1530s. However, this city remained reformatory for only a short time, because the growing influence of the Anabaptists and Rothmann's support of this group led to the Anabaptist rule of Münster, with Rothmann acting as its theological head. A comprehensive analysis of his eloquent writings and letters traces his theological development and demonstrates his independent theological thinking. The account of his struggle for truth reveals his theological sharpness and gradual theological change. For the first time, the various editions of his writings are evaluated and some surprising new insights into his biography are discovered.
Sobre l'autor
Christian Elmo Wolff, Dr. theol., Jahrgang 1982, studierte Evangelische Theologie in Münster und arbeitet derzeit als Wissenschaftsmanager der CVJM-Hochschule in Kassel. 2019 wurde er mit der vorliegenden Arbeit promoviert.
