About this ebook

A New York Times reporter dies in her car from an allergy to bee stings. Accident... or murder? Four suspects to choose from. Who is The Culprit?

When insecure, clumsy beat cop Joseph Klutz is promoted to Homicide Detective by his shady, SHOUTY police chief, Southerby, he quickly discovers foul play in the murder of Sarah Johnson. As he interrogates several eccentric witnesses, and dangerious criminals (like the sinister sniper X, plus the evil Supreme Mafiya and Wild Bunch gangs!) come at him from all sides, he quickly starts questioning his abilities as the case quickly grows darker and more dangerious. Will clumsy N.Y.P.D Detective Joseph Klutz be able to survive his first case? Will he catch the sinister puppetmaster known among a small circle as The Culprit, the evil man engineering the events? Or will his clumsiness get the best of him?

Jensen's self-described "family-friendly comedy thriller" delivers more comedy than thrills but ultimately lives up to its name, as does the titular character, a clumsy but capable detective. Subverting the expectation of the idiot detective à la Inspector Gadget or Jacques Clouseau, Klutz proves to be an excellent detective whose clumsiness comically works to his advantage or disadvantage at times. The story is fast-paced and exciting enough to maintain interest, with a cast of zany caricature-like characters. The pace is essential as the writing itself can be predictable at times, sacrificing style for succinct story-telling. The setting of the story in the near-future begs further development in this universe and a sequel setup at the end promises future instalments in an expanding series."
