About this eBook

Take the suspense and action of B.J. Daniels's Montana Justice series, add the loyal cowboys of Joanne Kennedy's Cowboys of Decker Ranch, mix with June Faver's authentic voice and genuine family dynamics, and you won't be able to put this one down!

Cowboy musician Tyler Garrett has a once-in-a-lifetime chance to put aside his rough-and-tumble rancher's lifestyle and realize his dream. There's no room to add love in the mix. He's on the road to Dallas to record a demo when that dream gets kicked sideways by a beautiful woman on the run.

Leah Benson will do whatever it takes to keep her daughter safe. But when her dangerous past catches up with her, she needs more than one night with a cowboy—she needs a hero. Good thing Tyler Garrett was born and bred for the role, and she and her daughter can finally settle down as the lucky ones who found a forever home.

The main characters in this story are Tyler Garrett and Leah Benson. Against his father’s wishes, Tyler is leaving behind his father, two brothers and the wealthy ranch life he grew up in, in order to fulfill his dream of becoming a singer. On his way to Dallas, he meets Leah and her daughter Gracie. Little did either know that their lives will be forever changed. The author’s sensitivity in dealing with abuse, and rape needs to be commended. Here we have two individuals searching for a different future but somehow destiny and fate changes their perspective on what is important. It was a well written story, though at times I felt there was too many description which was a distraction for me. Though not memorable, it is a good story for an afternoon of reading. I received this copy from Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

I thought this was a pretty good read. I did feel it was rushed at times but it was still very entertaining. With Leah's background I'm not sure the insta-love aspect was believable but considering what she's been through you wanted her to have that happy. Tyler was a great character. So kind and giving, he was just the kind of man that Leah needed in her life to help her heal. Overall the writing was good, the characters developed nicely, and the story was fun with a nice easy pace. I would definitely recommend this one.

Do or Die Cowboy by June Faver Dark Horse Cowboy #1 Tyler “Ty” Garrett has a dream and nothing will stand between him and finding out whether or not he can make it as a country singer. He has his sights on being the next Country Idol winner and is on his way to Dallas to see a buddy to make that happen. Withy Lucky his dog in the truck cab beside him and Prince his stallion in the trailer behind him he has left the family ranch behind even though it has alienated his father. Pulling in for a meal he sees a woman and her daughter that seem to be running scared and then he sees them again and does the good Samaritan thing only to find that he is drawn to Leah and her daughter Gracie in a way that makes getting to Dallas sooner rather than later a whole lot more difficult. Leah is on the run and has a truly evil man close behind her. When she gets to what she believes will be a safe haven she realizes that there is more than the one evil man to contend with. Leah has had a rough life but makes the best of situations she finds herself in and with a fierce mama love she will do just about anything to keep her daughter Gracie safe. So…will Ty give up his dreams or head to Dallas? If he goes in pursuit of his dreams then who will keep Leah safe? I enjoyed this story and since it is fiction and a way to escape kind of overlooked the believability factor. If you are looking for an escape with a handsome country singer being alpha for the woman he falls for rather quickly then this book might be for you. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3-4 Stars
