“Dark Alpha’s Hunger” is an intense and gripping thrill of a read. I have been waiting to discover Eoghan’s fate ever since he was ripped from the Reapers by Bran and I have to say that his story is one satisfying read. Not only does Eoghan get his story but Thea is a strong and fascinating heroine that is perfect for Eoghan and their first meeting is a spectacular and unique one. The chemistry is electrical and the passion is hot but the romance is full of danger and emotional turmoil that will have to be overcome before they can reach for the HEA and the fast paced, smooth flowing plot is thrilling, full of excitement and suspense that keeps readers turning the pages. The story is further enhanced with secrets being revealed and surprising twists that ensure readers want to know every last detail and of course ensures that they come back for more. This fascinating world just keeps getting better and while the story was a bit on the short side, Donna Grant fit quite a bit of information, excitement and suspense in and blended it all together seamlessly so that reader get quite the story. I loved “Dark Alpha’s Hunger and definitely can’t wait to read the next book, especially after all the twists and plot reveals that took place in this one.

Donna Grant is clearly talented and this one had so much potential, but it still fell flat for me. The story felt rushed and I never quite felt a connection with the characters. To be fair, I haven't read the whole series, so I did feel like I was missing some things that are mentioned in this one. On the flip-side of that, the blurb does mention that this is part of that series, and maybe it's just me, but I didn't see anywhere that mentioned a continuing story. A small disclaimer in the blurb to warn readers of the necessity to read earlier books would go a long way toward avoiding reviews like this one. That said, I did manage to follow the story well enough, but I feel like I would've gotten more out of it with more world building and depth. Based on my lack of connection to the story or characters in this sixth book in the series, I am undecided on whether or not I'll check out the earlier books.

Fantastic read, great twist added to the story. Eoghan's betrayal in how he became a reaper was sad, but was happy to see that he gets a HEA as well. I can't wait to see where the new development in this story heads, I look forward to Death's story.
