About this ebook

Sugar has a problem and Bad Panther has the purr-fect solution.

Dr. Sugar Jennings is an Archaeologist and an Ancient Earth Historian. She’s also the host of an ancient artifact of enormous power. Now everyone wants Sugar dead because of it. They want the power she possesses, but she can’t let them get it. Desperation drives her to seek help but no one is willing to risk their life in the job of protecting hers. Or no one did until a mercenary panther shifter decided she might be worth the trouble. Now all she has to do is convince the ancient artifact she carries not to kill her panther guardian for trying to help her.

Axel Rodu is a rogue panther shifter and the Guardians of Earth heir to the Lyran throne. His work for the paranormal agency is a special contract only, but even their toughest problems barely keep his boredom at bay. Has he earned the name Bad Panther? Depends on who you ask so long as you don’t ask his newest client. Ironically though, Axel has no intentions of using Dr. Sugar Jennings to worsen his reputation. He has one job to do concerning the nosy archaeologist and one job only. By order of his queen, whatever it takes, he must make sure Dr. Jennings stays alive until the artifact is done with her.

Sugar is hot on the trail of an ancient artifact where nothing goes as planned. She certainly didn’t count on Axel. Different storyline with interesting characters and a hot relationship. Good start to a new series. While this does end in an HEA for our characters, there is an ongoing storyline. This is told in dual POV and these two are characters in their own right but when added together they are dynamite. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

This is an okay read and is the first book in the series that will continue in the next part. The story had potential but I could not get past the male characters. He is a jerk, to put it very kindly. I did like Sugar. She is an interesting and intelligent character. I do question her judgement when it comes to Axel though. Maybe Axel will get better in the second story.

Fascinating story. Ancient alien civilization in earth prehistory. They were sent to guard and protect the Earth's natural systems, flora and fauna (sender unknown.) 4 hidden artifacts are extremely powerful and turn their hosts into warriors. 30,000 yrs later, 2 artifacts have called their hosts-- one has been and one is being assimilated. This section deals with the second warrior, how she's affected by the artifact and the guardian called to help. As a romance the guardian Is a male she can't keep her hands from. He is a halfbreed of human and an alien race of intelligent felines who's therefore able to shift between forms. He's also the heir to the throne of the race which protects the earth. Although, strictly speaking this is a cliffhanger, it's not one I minded because the story is full and satisfying on its own. The writing is intelligent, descriptive, and respectful of the characters. I only found one homophone error, the (use of fair instead of fare) I definitely recommend
