Frank L. Packard (1877–1942) was a prolific Canadian author renowned for his contributions to the crime fiction genre. He was born in Montreal, Quebec and educated at McGill University, where he studied engineering. Despite his technical background, Packard's passion for writing took precedence, and he pursued a literary career, gaining fame for his tales of intrigue and suspense. His narratives often delved into the murky underworld of crime, featuring captivating characters and complex plots that resonated with readers of his time. One of his notable works, 'Doors of the Night' (1922), is a quintessential reflection of his literary style, harnessing the gritty atmosphere of a Post-World War I America while exploring themes of redemption and the dichotomy of good and evil.
