About the author

 

 Dr. Debasis Samanta was awarded Ph. D. in Chemistry from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India for his work on organic synthesis and surface functionalization at NCL, Pune during 2000-2003 and IACS, Kolkata during 2003-2005. After working as Post Doc in NDSU, USA and UMass, USA he joined CSIR-CLRI, Chennai, India in 2011, where he is currently serving as Senior Scientist and Project Leader. He has published more than 35 research papers with citations of more than 800. The work by his research group is focused on functionalization of surfaces, synthesis of novel polymers and their applications.  Under his supervision, one student was awarded PhD degree in 2018. He is currently guiding 4 students for Doctoral program under AcSIR.
