Dr.M.Caroline Maria is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Education and IQAC Coordinator in Loyola College of
Education, Chennai. She holds the degrees of M.Sc. (Environmental Science), M.Sc. (Psychology), M.Ed. NET (Education), Ph.D. (Education). Her thrust areas are educational psychology, environmental education and research studies. She is a passionate teacher-educator who has published 10 research articles in UGC listed journals, organised 3 National Seminars in Loyola College of Education, participated and presented papers in more than 30 national and international conferences and seminars.Served as a Resource person for UGC sponsored Orientation Programme, NET, TET, TRB coaching, faculty development programmes, etc. She has done an experimental study in Loyola College of Education to and out the effect of Ecological Intelligence on developing Ecological Sensitivity among prospective teachers. The researcher has taken the idea of Daniel Goleman on Ecological Intelligence and construed the concept of Ecological Sensitivity which is denoted as the mental disposition of an individual to deal effectively with the changing environment. The research is done with an aim of enabling prospective teachers to bring out some desirable changes in their behaviour towards the protection of environment and in turn they are expected to bring out the same behavioural change in students community which is the need of the hour for the mere survival of mankind. Therefore the thesis is published as a book in order to reach many people for their behavioural change which is demanded by the environment for the sake of possible life on earth. The main aim of this book is to develop ecological intelligence and ecological sensitivity of the common man to preserve and improve the environment of the globe for sustainable life earth.
