About this ebook

In the heart of a forgotten valley lay the silent town of Eldritch. Shrouded in perpetual fog and surrounded by dense, gnarled forests, it was a place untouched by time and ignored by the maps of modern man. Its buildings, ancient and crumbling, whispered tales of a past steeped in shadow and mystery. It was here, in this secluded corner of the world, that our story unfolds.

The tale begins with Sarah, a curious journalist with an insatiable appetite for the unexplained, driving her old, battered car along the winding, forest-clad road leading to Eldritch. Her only companion was the crackling voice of the radio, struggling to maintain a signal amidst the towering trees. "Why am I doing this?" she muttered to herself, her breath fogging up the windshield. "Because," she answered her question, "if the rumors about Eldritch are true, then this could be the biggest story of my career."

As she entered the town, the fog thickened, swallowing her car whole. The streets were deserted, the silence so profound it was almost tangible. She parked near what looked like the main square, an open space surrounded by dilapidated buildings, their facades eaten away by time and nature.

Sarah grabbed her camera and notepad, stepping out into the eerie stillness. The fog seemed to move, swirling around her as if alive. She shivered, not from the cold, but from a creeping sense of unease. "Hello?" she called out, her voice devoured by the fog. No answer came, only the echo of her own words.

She began to explore, her footsteps echoing on the cobblestone streets.

i didn't realize it was a short story, I would have loved to read a more in depth version of this tale. It was however, wonderfully written and grabbed my attention immediately.
