About this ebook

It was a dark, stormy night when Janet and her friends, Mike and Lisa, found themselves lost in the remote countryside. As they drove through the winding roads, the rain lashed against their car, and the wind howled like a thousand angry spirits. Thunder cracked overhead, and lightning illuminated the sky, casting eerie shadows on the desolate landscape.

Janet glanced at the map on her phone and frowned. "We should have reached the cabin by now," she said, her voice quivering with anxiety.

Mike peered through the windscreen, squinting at the deluge of rain. "I can't see a thing in this storm. We'll have to find a place to pull over and wait it out."

They spotted a dim light in the distance and drove towards it, hoping to find shelter. As they approached, they saw an old sign partially hidden by overgrown trees. It read, "Devil's Labyrinth Inn."

"Creepy name for an inn," Lisa muttered, shivering as they pulled into the gravel car park.

The building loomed before them, its dark windows staring back like empty eye sockets. The sign creaked in the wind, and the crooked letters sent shivers down Janet's spine. Reluctantly, they pushed open the creaking door and stepped inside.

The interior of the inn was dimly lit, and the air was heavy with the scent of damp wood. An old man emerged from the shadows, his weathered face creased in a friendly smile. "Welcome to the Devil's Labyrinth Inn," he said, his voice crackling like dry leaves. "I'm Ezekiel, the innkeeper. What brings you out here on a night like this?"

"We're trying to find our friend's cabin," Janet explained. "But we got lost in the storm. Do you have any rooms available for the night?"

Ezekiel nodded, his eyes glinting in the dim light. "I have one room left. It's at the end of the hall, first on the left. You'll find everything you need in there."
