About this eBook

Regina Brannon's unexpected return from prison—wheelchair-bound and seemingly helpless—flips her family's world upside down.

Struggling to protect her pregnant self and adopted niece, Kenzi suspects her mother's paralysis is a ruse. As eerie events unfold in their old mansion, the arrival of Ryker, a man claiming to be a long-lost Brannon, further complicates matters. Caught between her husband's suspicions and her brother's sympathy, Kenzi finds herself entangled in a web of family secrets and divided loyalties.

As the line between truth and deception blurs, Kenzi must unravel the mystery before it's too late. Is Regina truly helpless, or is she orchestrating a sinister plan that could shatter their fragile family forever?

Just when you think things can’t get any crazier at the Brannon House, they do. Kenzi’s mother is released to their house, but is she really paralyzed? Everyone is at odds with each other over a variety of issues. This book had me holding my breath time after time. There were so many unexpected discoveries that I had no idea where the story was going, but I enjoyed it! I can’t wait for the next book! I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Great read. Wow what a great read. Kenzie and Graham are a cool couple. I love Embrt and her drive and ambition. The family has grown and are moving in the right direction. The Brannon men seem to be a bit evil in my opinion. This was a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

About the author

Stacy Claflin is a USA Today bestselling thriller author who has published more than 100 novels, including Girl in Trouble and The Perfect Death. She has always been curious about the human mind, and in her quest to learn more, she earned a degree in Psychology. Her favorite course was Abnormal Behavior, which has been useful in writing fiction.

Her love for thrillers goes back to her early childhood when she fell in love with Unsolved Mysteries and America’s Most Wanted. When Stacy was five, she got mad at a babysitter who wouldn’t let her watch the evening news. These days, she spends her free time listening to true crime podcasts or watching documentaries on the subject.

She has been telling stories for as long as she can remember, and as child would often get into trouble for trying to convince friends her wild tales were true. Now she puts her creativity to better use by writing page-turning stories that leave readers begging for more.

Stacy occasionally dabbles in other genres, so as you peruse her library of works, you’ll find some romance and paranormal tales, all with strong suspense elements.
