REA’s Interactive Flashcard books represent a novel approach that combines the merits of flash cards with the ease of using a book. One side of each page includes questions to be answered, with space for writing in one’s answers — a feature not usually found on flash cards. The flip side of the same page contains the correct answers, much as flash cards do. The EMT-PARAMEDIC EXAM Interactive Flashcard book is fully indexed, making it easy to locate topics for study. Thanks to the book form, there is no need to look for and fish out appropriate questions from a box and put them back in the proper order, and there is no need to carry around a box of 1,000 or so flash cards. The book is easier to take along and carry.

Jeffrey Lindsey, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in Emergency Health Services at George Washington University. He retired from the fire service as the fire chief for Estero Fire Rescue, Estero, Fla. A nationally recognized figure in the emergency services industry, he also serves as the education coordinator for 24-7 EMS. He is an experienced leader, educator, lecturer, author (including REA's EMT-Basic Flashcards), and consultant in emergency services. Dr. Lindsey earned his doctorate and master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Florida. He holds a bachelor's degree in Fire and Safety Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and an associate in paramedicine from Harrisburg Area Community College. Dr. Lindsey has nearly three decades of diverse experience in the emergency services industry.
