About the author

Donati Edgardo is a full time Professor at National University of La Plata, Principal Researcher from CONICET, and the Head of CINDEFI (Institute of Applied Biotechnology belonging to CONICET and UNLP). He has a PhD in Chemistry from National University of La Plata. His areas of expertise are biomining, bioremediation, prokaryotic extremophiles in geothermal and mining zones. He has been the Coordinator of Environmental Technology Council (ANPCYT) for 5 years and he has participated as an expert in many scientific commisions. He has published more than 100 papers in biotechnology, 40 papers in science education, 6 books, more than 30 chapters in different books, and presented more than 200 communications at international and national conferences. He has supervised several PhD, master, and degree theses. He has been invited for numerous lectures at conferences in different countries and has been the scientific leader for several national and international projects. He is an associate editor for various international journals, has participated in international evaluation of projects and theses, and has reviewed manuscripts for several international scientific journals.
