Eppure, ancora oggi questo libro ci colpisce non solo per la straordinaria, ineguagliata fortuna che l'ha accompagnato lungo tutta la sua storia, ma anche per i suoi pregi letterari: per la scrittura, per la sapienza, di una sceneggiatura completa, per la capacità di concludere un episodio con una singola magistrale frase.
