The 21st century is characterised by continuous changes which place huge demands on leaders in educational settings, requiring them to face change before they are engulfed by it. Trevor Male has worked in the field of education for over 50 years, including full-time employment as an academic since 1993 in four universities (Brunel, Lincoln, Hull and UCL, all in the UK) as well as previously part-time in two others (Open and Leicester, also in the UK). Currently he is Associate Professor in the UCL Centre for Educational Leadership, Institute of Education, where he is Programme Leader for the MBA Educational Leadership (International). In previous careers, he was an officer in the Education Department of London Borough of Harrow (1986-1993) and a qualified schoolteacher (1973-86). He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He continues to be an active researcher and is engaged in several live projects, with many academic articles, conference papers and book chapters having been published.
