Elise Faber prevails with Charging (Gold Hockey # 10). Gold Hockey General Manager, Charlotte Harris and defenseman Logan Walker have a past. Now that the season is over, Logan is set out to win Charlotte back. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers. Logan is a good guy. He broke up with Charlotte because he did not want her to sacrifice her career because of him. His intentions were good, but he did not let Charlotte decide for herself. Charlotte is an impressive heroine. She has achieved great things and is ambitious. Logan broke her heart, and she needs to decide if she is going to give him a second chance. Logan and Charlotte dated at the beginning of their careers; It is now eight years later. They have both matured a lot since they dated. I like how well they know each other despite the time spent apart. They never stopped loving each other. Both suffered because of their breakup. The story was believable and heartfelt. It is a great addition to the Gold Hockey series. It was easy to follow and entertaining. The story had a wonderful ending. I recommend this book to people who enjoy sports romances. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I enjoyed this story of a reunion/second chance at love. Charlotte was a strong woman, determined to succeed in a man's world, though her heart was missing something. Logan was actually a sweet man. He hid his guilt and hurt, and bulldozed his way back into Charlotte's life. I loved how the two of them worked out the past, accepted the reasons for it, and moved forward. I had tears each time they supported each other, were there for each other. This was my first in the world of Gold Hockey, and I look forward to reading more. I received a copy of this story through Elle Wood Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

Elise Faber is a relatively new author to me and Charging is the first book I have read in the Gold Hockey series. I do feel that I may have enjoyed this book more if I had read some, if not all of the previous books in the series but having said that I wasn’t lost reading Charging. This is Charlotte (Char) Harris and Logan Walker’s second chance at love story and one I enjoyed. Both have been focused on their careers and yet there is something missing in their lives. Could it be because they let one another get away? I enjoyed Ms. Faber’s writing style and found Charging to be well written. Both these characters frustrated me at times; the push and pull in their relationships got a little too much on occasion. However, overall I enjoyed the story and when time permits I will look at the previous books in the series. Will Char listen to what Logan has to say about their breakup? Will she give him a second chance? Can they come to terms with the past and in doing so move on and have a future together? One click and find out.
