Well written, good flow, easy to read. More romance with well-conceived light mystery. I enjoyed the unconventional heroine but wish the author had made her less worried about the opinions of the Ton, more self-confident. The hero was strong and respectful and other supporting characters were interesting and I'll be looking out for more about the ensign and the mysterious Jacques. I adored the servants and their stories; I would love a novel about them and their "school". I will follow this series.

A lively tale spiced with romance and mystery. A handsome spy meets his match when he encounters a talented and foward thinking design engineer. Never realising what lies beneath the veneer of a society beauty who rejects all proposals, he suspects she is possibly a spy or at least in league with the enemy by selling secrets. Failing to recognise the truth when she confesses her secrets, he is forced to recognise his own feelings when the beauty is kidnapped.

Incredible suspense novel about a ferociously strong, intellectual, and independent woman and her equally tough, protective, and good hero rebuilding their family!
