From the moment she stumbled, falling into my arms, she was mine. Despite the pressure from her father's funeral and the heat I was under for the D'Angelo Syndicate, I lived by a code. My ethics could not be compromised. Ever. My code protected me like a vice, a haven for a sinner like me. 

My orders were to lay low, avoid drawing the attention of authorities after the war we’d had with our greatest rival. With free time on my hands, I couldn't help but become intrigued by the brown eyed bombshell and her ability to get herself into a bind. At first, it was fun to protect her. A kitchen accident here, catching her from a small trip there. It was cute. Innocent.
